What is procrastination in actual-7 main reason why we procrastinate

Don't you just get frustrated when you got something to do, that should be completed on time but you just do not want to do it and you just can't help with your habit of procrastination? You have a deadline or your exam is on next week but still, you are not working on that. Instead of doing your work you are distracted by miscellaneous things like watching the video, wasting your time on social networking sites, checking your friend's stories and status and checking email. do not worry because you are the not only one who is stuck in this loop.
We all do procrastination from time to time but have you ever wonder why we procrastination after knowing that is going make a negative impact on our like....? In this post, we will try to find out the actual reason behind this. In this post, I am going to share with you the topmost reason for procrastination but before that, we have to understand "What is the actual mean of procrastination?"

what is procrastination?
procrastination is the habit of postponing and delaying the task or goals until the last minute. most people think that procrastination is a time management issue. But there is nothing to do with time management. In procrastination, we delay our actions intentionally and we choose not to do it right now without a solid reason. In the end, we just mess up with our all schedules.

7 main reason for procrastination

1. low self-esteem and lack of motivation
low self-esteem and lack of motivation play a vital role in procrastination. These two factors are one of the main reasons for procrastination. also, research has shown that people with high self-esteem have a low procrastination score and people with low self-esteem have a high score of procrastination.  what I got interesting about this is if they are going to start with a lack of motivation and poor self-esteem then there are higher chances that they would give a poor performance and this thing will lead them to procrastinate further.
2. Laziness
procrastination often misunderstood as laziness, even I was confused about it then iI did some study and come to know that there is a difference between procrastination and laziness. laziness is the major cause of procrastination and lets,s be honest the real reason behind procrastination is pure laziness. it's our nature to be lazy because laziness is so easy and getting out of your comfort zone is opposite thing. lazy people do not want to get out of their comfort zone, they want an easy life. lazy people do not make efforts and of course, they hardly achieve anything.
also, I would like to mention that laziness does not always play a negative role in your growth. sometimes it helps you to get the easiest way or solution for your problem like usually genius do.
3. I will do it later(lack of control on emotion)
you got a task or something to do and also you know that you got enough time to complete those work. exactly that's the bloody point where procrastination begins. after knowing that you have the penalty on time so you intentionally choose those unnecessary things and priority which is definitely going to kill your time. you do less important miscellaneous stuff like checking your e-mail, wasting your time on social networking sites, gossip with your friends or colleagues, being a lazy ass and watching web series on your couch.
I will do it later, I will do that after 15 minutes. you keep telling these words to your self. it is self-created excuses that your mind makes you do not have any control over your emotion. you have to control your emotion to stop delaying your work.
4. lack of focus
focus is very important for completing your task, for achieving your goal or whatever you are doing in your life you have to stay focused. the lacking of focus in your life is another main reason that leads you to procrastination.
5. Low level of energy
if your energy level always remains low then it can be a reason that you are being a procrastinator. as we are all aware that we need energy for work. with a low level of energy, you will not feel like doing much at all and you will continuously delay your task.
6. Over perfectionism
yeah, you read it right, perfectionism is one of the major causes of procrastination. excessive perfection may lead you to procrastinate because you want things to be perfect. instead of start working on your task, you start to overthink and dream for your ideal result. in the hope of the perfect result, you would not even get your work done.
7. psychological reason
If you are having some mental issues like depression, anxiety, OCD, etc. then these things also may be a reason for your procrastination. It is usually seen that people who are suffering from anxiety and fear predict a negative outcome by themselves self that why afraid to give a try. they keep delaying and postpone their goals, task, and meeting.

Once you understand the actual reason for your procrastination, you can work on that to stop them because before finding a solution for anything first you should know the rood of that problem. otherwise you are not going to find a perfect solution for that. There may be a different reason for procrastination depending on your lifestyle.
